Disability- Induction
As an alternative to having
your own training course accredited for LDAF, you can purchase a ready
accredited LDAF distance learning course, 'Developing Competence
in Care'.
Developed by the Association
for Real Change (ARC), Developing Competence in Care is a broad-based
introductory course that covers all elements of the LDAF Induction and
Foundation requirements.
Learners will find that Developing
Competence in Care contains all the answers they need (or it
prompts them to find those answers in their workplace); be aware however
that they still require someone who is knowlegable and experienced in
Learning Disability Services to be their learning supporter. Both the
learner and the learning supporter need to invest time dedicated to
the training course.
Learning
Disability- Management
'Measuring up for Management'
is a newly revised and updated manual for managers of learning disability
care services, to support them in all their different roles and responsibilities.
It includes links to two national qualifications - the Registered Managers
Award (NVQ) and the Higher Professional Diploma in Learning Disability
Studies (LDAF).
